1. Camillus Pointe – Senior Apartment Community –

councilor callahan recentlyvisited the site this past week and although it doesn’t look like anything is going on from the Milton Ave. view, nothing could be farther from the truth when you go inside.

a. One wing is almost complete with the apartments carpeted, appliances in, painted and light fixtures in. They truly look great.
b. Out of 119 units 94 are rented.
c. All siding will be completed with the next eight weeks.
d. The scheduled move in date is September 1st, 2016.
e. There is now a property manager on site. Her name is Debbie Clemano and she is who people will be dealing with to rent apartments. Her number is 315-489-9036 and the email is camilluspointe@clovergroupinc.com. The office is open starting this week.
Rents are from $995 for a one bedroom and $1125.00 for two bedrooms. (rent includes heat, water and cable).

A message from the President of Dependable Wast Management. Good morning everyone. Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on where we are with roll-out and collection.

The collection has been going very well. I am very excited with the resident participation and how well they are positioning the totes. Great job by everyone! In the coming weeks, we will be driving around and placing instructions on all totes that are not positioned properly. The sheet is in a heavy duty full size zip-lock bag and will be zip tied to the tote, therefore whomever takes the tote to the curb will see it. Our Wednesday and Thursday route ran a 1-2 hours late this week because we are still taking the personal/old trash cans and it slows up the process. Monday and Tuesday routes have been on-time.

I have instructed the drivers to continue collecting trash/recycling even if residents are not using totes. Come June 1st, we will have all tote issues resolved, and expect all resident to use totes. Our phone call response has been slow the past 2 weeks because of the high call volumes. Every day this week, there were 60-80 messages on the customers service lines at 8am the next business day. It would take all day for them to clear the messages and get back to everyone, as well as, take the daytime calls. Most people understand the magnitude of this project and have been very patient. Anyone the yells and screams we take care of right away.

I recently was able to meet with the developer that had received approval a few years ago to build 4 multi-unit family buildings on the northwest parcle at the intersection of Warners and Bennett Roads. He is hoping to start construction on one of the buildings in early June and have it completed by September. He plans on building them one at a time as they are rented out. He hopes to stat unit 2 in 2017.

This weekend during the Pitch-Hit-Run/HR Derby at Shove Park Central City Recycling is going to have a trailer on site to help us collect bottles and cans.

The Town Board recently amended the Camillus Municipal Code, in regards to Seniors who file exemptions for their property. Chapter 81-Senior Citizens Tax Exemption, §81.4-Annual Application Required, the purpose of which is to allow applications by Senior Citizens to be accepted by the Assessor after the appropriate taxable status date under certain circumstances. This change only applies in cases of the death of the applicant’s spouse, child, parent, brother or sister or in cases of illness of the applicant applicant’s spouse, child, parent, brother or sister which prevents the applicant from filing on a timely basis, which must be certified by a licensed physician.

On Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 at the Camillus town Hall (4600 W. Genesee St.) the Onondaga County Health Department will be sponsoring a rabies shot clinic. Notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of Camillus invites sealed proposals for the license of the land & billboard located on the southerly side of West Genesee Street just east of its intersection with Munro Road in the Town of Camillus, Tax Map Parcel #027-03-05.2, for a period of two years with a minimum bid of $750 per month. The Town intends to exercise some limited oversight over the content of the advertisements.
All sealed proposals must be received by the Camillus Town Clerk at 4600 West Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13219, on or before May 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at which time and place all sealed proposals will be opened.

At a recent planning Board meeting the owners of the Fiarmount Fair Plaza sought approval to expand the plaza. The purpose of the application is to modify the existing Fairmount Fair shopping center with a 5075 square foot addition. The proposed addition will abut the
existing Michael’s retail space. The new space will be constructed over the area of the sidewalk and parking spaces located on the eastern side of the building. As more information about potential tenants is released i will pass it along.

The Camillus Police Department and ACR Health will be hosting a separate mini forum with Narcan training on Thursday May 5, 2016. The forum will feature a short presentation on heroin, opiods, and Narcan followed by hands on training on the use of Narcan.

Hourly sessions will take place at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m in the West Genesee High School Distance Learning Center. NARCAN kits will be supplied to all participants that complete the training course.
