The Town of Camillus received a sizable refund of ($15,253.00) for our 2017 Worker’s Compensation expense.

A special thanks to Carol O’Neil in the Comptroller’s Office for her work with our auditor’s to ensure that employees were designated to the proper class.

Camillus Erie Canal Park – Cruises and TowPath Day

July 1st, 2018

SUMMER DINNER CRUISES – Enjoy a Wednesday summer evening cruise down the canal, learning about its history, listening to good music, all while having a fantastic Dinner. Cruises start July 11 through August 15 and leave promptly at 6 p.m. from Sims Store, rain or shine. Onondaga Lake Monitoring

The final Onondaga Lake Monitoring and Maintenance Plan, dated June 2018, is now available on DEC’s Region 7 Environmental Remediation Project Information webpage (see Onondaga County, Onondaga Lake Site – 734030). Fairmount Community Church – New Development

From the June 11th Planning Board – information in regards to the proposed buildings on the site of the former Fairmount Community Church. The full text can be accessed Fairmount Community Church

Mr. Stephen Calocerinos, of Calocerinos Engineering, representing Rocklyn West and
Mr. Arthur Kanerviko, of Rocklyn West presented the application. The purpose of the
application is to develop the property which was previously occupied by the church.
The proposal is to redevelop the property to construct two (2) multi-family buildings
containing approximately 84 units, and two (2) commercial buildings of approximately
3,750 sf and 10,000 sf. The subject parcels are approximately 5.96 acres in size and is
currently zoned Limited Business Office (LBO).

Second Chance Diner

June 30th, 2018

A recent proposal was made to the Planning Board in regards to the commercial space at 103-5 Bennet Road. It is the space the was most recently occupied by Mo’s Pit BBQ. Below is from the June 11th Planning Board.

Mr. Edward DePalma, owner of the Second Chance Diner, and Mr. Thomas Ditullio,
architect for the project presented the application. The purpose of the application is to
obtain outdoor seating for a new diner occupying the space at this location. The square
footage for the restaurant is approximately 1323 square feet. The owner plans to have
12 tables of 4 for the proposed patio seating. Mr. Ditullio described the site as it exists
in detail, and also advised the Board there will be a six (6) foot stockade fence installed
on the north side of the building to screen the adjacent property from the restaurant.
The restaurant will use the existing dumpsters located in the northwestern corner of the
parcel. There is sufficient parking for the restaurant along with the other business
occupying the building. The hours of operation for the restaurant will be 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Coming Soon to Township 5, Indian Grill. From the owners of Dosa Grill, Indian Grill will offer a wide selection of best Indian cuisine made from fresh ingredients. Every item is prepared fresh, paying careful attention to our patron’s choice of mild, medium or hot flavor. We do not use packaged curry powders or canned meat, seafood or vegetables. This will be the owners 5th location in CNY. Look for them to open later this summer.
