1. Consider the creation of the Christopher Community Sewer District.

2. Consider adding the property located at West Genesee Turnpike TM#027.-02-30.0 to the Camillus Consolidated Sewer District.

3. Consider amending the Camillus Municipal Code, Chapter 43, Stormwater Sewer System, Section 43.7 (A), by adding thereto the following sentence: These exempt discharges shall not apply from June 1, 2019 until May 31, 2021 to the use of the catch basins CB-1 through CB-12 located within the 51 Richlee Drive Watershed as portrayed in a flood study report prepared by Barton & Loguidice Engineers dated April 4, 2019.

4. Consider the 2019 Community Development Block Grant Funding Projects.

1. Approve the installation of one 25 w LED on pole #3 at a cost not to exceed $96.39 and charge to the Camillus Consolidated Lighting District #6. ( Per Councilor Steve James)

2. Set the date, time and place as May 14, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider repealing the existing Chapter 26, Uniform Code Enforcement, of the Camillus Municipal Code and replacing with a new version of Chapter 26, Uniform Code Enforcement.

3. Set the date, time, and place as May 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building to open sealed bids for Worker’s Compensation Insurance.

4. Authorize the Town Supervisor to sign the Facility Use Agreement between the Town of Camillus and the West Genesee Central School District for the 2019 Summer Day Camp Program from July 1, 2019 to August 9, 2019.

5. Set the date, time and place as April 23, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider amending the Camillus Municipal Code, Chapter 30, Zoning, Section 405 (A) by adding a new paragraph which will read as follows: 6. Collateral loan broker otherwise known as pawnbroker.

6. Refer Chapter 30, Zoning, Section 405 (A) to the Camillus Planning Board and SOCPA.

I wanted to share some information to encourage everyone in the County of Onondaga to participate in the 2020 Census. The count begins approximately 1 year from now, but many are working right now to make sure all of our community members are aware of the Census and have the educational resources that explain the confidentiality laws around the census, answer any questions, and make sure community members are aware of the safety of the census and the need for as accurate a count as we can get!

The data that is collected during this census count will be used to determine many things about our relationship for the next 10 years with the Federal Government. This data will be used as the basis for distributing more than $675 billion in federal funds annually to states, counties, and communities to support resources such as schools, hospitals, and fire departments. The American Red Cross has a new program called Sound the Alarm. Red Cross volunteers go to homes in the community, regardless of income or location, and test the current smoke alarms and they will replace them with new ones if needed. All homes are eligible for up to 3 new smoke alarms that are guaranteed to last for 10 years. In addition to installing the smoke alarms, volunteers also provide the residents with home fire safety education. So far, the program has been successful in saving 520 lives!

County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II announces the launch of a brand new website allowing residents of the community to submit their resume to serve on a County
Board. Onondaga County currently has over 20 boards and many have vacancies to be filled. The initiative is a direct result of conversations the County Executive has had at several town halls he
has held since taking office last fall. County Executive McMahon said, “It is truly inspiring to hear from so many people interested in getting involved and being part of the solution. As County Executive, I have the honor of making appointments to several County Boards and it’s exciting to offer this opportunity to members of our community.” McMahon continued, “Onondaga County is home to the best and brightest and getting new perspectives will help us move forward together. I can’t wait to work with our various County Boards as we address poverty, infrastructure and economic development.” The website is live now and can be found here: County Boards It lists each board with a brief description. Members of the community can choose which board or boards they are interested in serving on. As vacancies come up, resumes will be reviewed.

County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II announced that the County Legislature has unanimously passed a local law eliminating burial fees for Veterans. The law also eliminated fees for spouses and eligible dependents of Veterans. The County Executive first announced the proposal at the 2019 State of the County held on February 26th at LeMoyne College. County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II said, “Since my time on the Legislature, I have heard the concerns of many of our Veteran’s regarding the costs associated with burials at our Veterans Cemetery. When I became County Executive, I promised to do something about it.” McMahon continued, “Eliminating these fees, which are an unnecessary hardship on our Veterans, was simply the right thing to do. I applaud my partners in the Legislature for recognizing the importance of getting this done and for their vote of support. Most importantly, thank you to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country every day.” The local law now goes to the County Executive for signature. A mandatory public hearing will also be held at a time and location to determined.
