In addition to our wonderful parade their are a few events in Camillus to our our fallen veterans:

Saturday May 25 10:00 at Veteran’s Memorial Park at Gillie Lake
Monday May 27 7:45 am at the Town Hall
Monday May 27 immediately follow the parade at Maplewood Cemetery.

Cycle in the City

May 11th, 2019

County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II announced the start of the annual “Cycle in the City” program which offers free group bike rides. Starting Sunday, May 19th at 9:00AM, people are encouraged to meet at Jefferson Street in Armory Square at the Creekwalk Trail Head to participate. Onondaga County, The Onondaga County Health Department, the City of Syracuse and several community partners will be offering
both 10 and 20-mile group bicycle rides one Sunday each month from May to October 2019. County Executive, Ryan McMahon supports this program and explained, “This is a great event and a sure sign that warmer weather is here to stay! Cycle in the City provides a great opportunity to see the sights of our community, engage in physical activity, and enjoy the comradery of others.” Upcoming dates for the Sunday bicycle rides are: June 16, July 14, August 11, September 8, and October 6. All rides will begin at 9:00 am at Jefferson Street in Armory Square at the Creekwalk Trail Head with a different city bicycle route each month. Riders must be 12 years old or older to participate and helmets are required for every rider. Rides are free and pre-registration is NOT required! Riding a bicycle is good for your health! People who ride bicycles regularly for either transportation or recreation may have reduced rates of disease and increased cardiovascular fitness. Biking is also an activity that is environmentally friendly, utilizes no fuel, and creates no air or noise pollution.Come join the fun and get fit too! Mental Health Awareness & Wellness Night

This event will take place on May 20 from 6:00-8:00 at the West Gensess High School. Information and resources for families and community members to hear from speakers addressing topics impacting our society today on such topics as anxiety, addiction, substance abuse, and recovery.

1. Approve the Sanitary Sewer Construction and Transportation Agreement for the Camillus Family Housing Project developed by Christopher Community, Inc. and authorize Supervisor to sign.

2. Set the date, time, and place as June 25, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider amending the Camillus Municipal Code Chapter 30, Zoning, Section 814 (c) to consider increasing the fees.

3. Refer Chapter 30, Zoning, Section 814 (c) to the Camillus Planning Board and SOCPA.

4. Set the date, time, and place as June 25, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider amending Chapter 30, Zoning, Section 405 (Prohibited Uses) to renumber the existing section 405, Prohibited Uses, to Section 406 and adopt a new Section 405 to be entitled Solar Energy Accessory Use.

5. Refer Chapter 30, Zoning, Section 405 (Prohibited Uses) to renumber the existing section 405, (Prohibited Uses) to Section 406 and adopt a new section 405 to be entitle Solar Energy Accessory Use to the Camillus Planning Board and SOCPA.

6. Set the date, time, and place as June 25, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider amending the Camillus Municipal Code Chapter 34, Fences, Section 34.2 (Permit required) to consider increasing the fees from $15.00 to $25.00.

7. Accept the bid of $85,600.00 from CFR Paving Inc. for the Reed Webster Park Parking Lot Improvements Project.

8. Accept the bid of $59,425.00 from Lafleur Constructors Inc., for the Camillus Basketball Court located at Town Hall

9. Amend resolution #82 dated April 23, 2019 to restate: Set the date, time and place as June 25, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building, 4600 West Genesee Street for a post-factfinding legislative public hearing for the CSEA, Local 1000 AFSCME, AFL-CIO Bargaining Unit, Town of Camillus Unit 7816-00, Onondaga County Local 834.

10. The Town of Camillus supports participation in the CNY Stormwater Coalition Staff Services and Education Compliance Assistance Program in 2020.

11. Accept the bid from Haylor, Freyer & Coon, in the amount of $244,931.00 for the two year contract option for Worker’s Compensation coverage with PERMA.

I-81 Viaduct Project

NYSDOT has published a preliminary I-81 Viaduct Project Draft Design Report/Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DDR/DEIS). This document examines the potential environmental effects of the project’s alternatives. NYSDOT plans to hold a public information meeting to further update the public on the status of the project, including the latest developments in the alternatives. An announcement of the date, time, and place of that meeting is forthcoming. NYSDOT will receive comments on the document until two weeks after the public meeting. The document can be downloaded on the project website, dot.ny.gov/i81opportunities, and copies will be distributed to project repositories throughout the Syracuse metropolitan region. The project website lists the repository locations.
