Camillus Ski Hill

October 24th, 2019

With winter quickly approaching the Camillus Ski Association (CSA) wants to invite you and your family to the Camillus Ski Hill for lots of winter fun. Their facility has very reasonably priced Ski/Snowboard lesson packages, Skiing, Snowboarding, and Tubing. They are local, reasonably priced, and provide a lot of fun for those long winter months.

In order to keep their prices down the Camillus Ski Hill is run by volunteers. In order to continue this effort we need more people to volunteer. The duties include: selling tickets, selling food at our snack bar, running the ski lifts, and working in our Ski Shop. Any time that you can offer would help us continue to offer great winter activities at very reasonable rates. In addition, volunteers, and their families, get to ski or snowboard for free anytime, and tube for free when they are working. For more information about volunteering, call Andy at 315-569-5566.

Camillus Canal Society

October 13th, 2019

One of the great hidden gems in our community is the portion of the Erie Canal that runs through Camillus. We have the best group that is run primarily through volunteer efforts. For the Annual Towpath Day they had their highest attendance ever. The Camillus Canal Society does a great job and has activities throughout the year. If you are ever looking for something new to do or just want to enjoy a nice walk, give the canal a try.

Connecting the Camillus Erie Canal Trail – Reed Webster Park to Gere’s Lock

October 13th, 2019

Work is underway to connect the Erie Cnal Trail from Reed Webster Park and going over part of Honeywells land and exiting that portion near the entrance to the Town Landfill. The trail would then utilize the existing roadway (Thomas Ave.) and follow that to Gere Lock Road. The trail would then be new at the old Gere Lock itself where a parking area will be placed and markers set up to see the exposed lock. The trail would then go through Solvay and end up at Bridge Street where you can then walk over the bridge to the Loop the Lake Trail. Work is underway and expected to be completed in the fall.
