The New York State Attorney General has notified us that he has approved the Department’s application for funding from the Bullet Proof Vest (“inVEST”) Partnership. The Office of the Attorney General will reimburse our department for 50 percent of the purchase price of protective vests up to $9,796.50. This will allow us to purchase each current full and part time member of the police department a brand new bullet resistant vest. As this funding is now available, we have started the process of providing a onetime purchase of a bullet resistant vest for each of the hard working police officers who professionally serve our community each and every day In addition we were recently selected as a grant recipient for an additional prescription drug collection box. We plan on putting this near the main entrance to the building (near the Town Clerks Office) as an additional location for our residents to drop off unwanted prescription medications. this $1000 item is being provided at no cost to the Town of Camillus by CVS Pharmacy/Drug Stores. Congratulations and continued success to Chief Winn and his team.
