Government Consolidation

Join F.O.C.U.S. Greater Syracuse and Consensus CNY on Friday, May 16 to learn more about Consensus CNY and its effort to evaluate government structure in Onondaga County in an effort to provide better services more efficiently to the community. In 1999 F.O.C.U.S. held a Vision Fair where citizens had the opportunity to vote on 87 community goals to enhance our quality of lives and our economic future. Citizens voted to: “CONSOLIDATE CITY AND COUNTY GOVERNMENT” AS THEIR No. 4 PREFERRED GOAL. Consensus is a giant step in accomplishing that goal! Cathy Richardson, co-chair for Consensus CNY, and Kathy Murphy, board chair for Syracuse 20/20, will discuss how we can make our community more sustainable by looking at local governments for efficiencies and collaborations. The event will be held at City Hall Commons at 201 E. Washington Street in Syracuse at 7:30 a.m.
