Tonights Town Board meeting will include the 2014 Budget – We always try to keep the increase flat. We are proposing a .06% increase from 2013. This equates to roughly $5.70 on a $150,000 home.
Health Care and retirement benefits are the big hurdles we are facing again. Many of the cost increases to the budget are as follows: The 2014 Employees & Retirees Health Insurance total was $1,511,000 (+$70,000) including a new Federal Health Care Act Tax of $48,000 to be paid by the Camillus Residential/ Commercial Property owners. Also, other expenses to the budget for 2014 were ~$260,000 for replacing worn out Town Landfill equipment, Special District increases and the estimated reduction of ~ $ 150,000 income from two of our Town profit centers which typically have a total profit of $700,000+. The Town Employees New York State Retirement System’s benefit costs are still underfunded and continued reform is necessary to reduce the cost to the Town taxpayers. The total mandatory contribution to the NY State Retirement system from the Camillus tax payers for the year 2014 will be ~ $1,231,000 (+21,000).

- Consider the 2014 preliminary budget.
- Consider the 2014 budget for all special districts in the Town of Camillus.
NEW BUSINESS
- Certify to the State of New York as of September 5, 2013 the Town of Camillus Justice Courts are in compliance with Section 2019-a of the Uniform Justice Court.
- Approve the appointment of Matthew Mancari, 105 Owls Nest Way, to a five year term on the Camillus Housing Authority with an expiration date of October 29, 2018 due to the expired term of Cheryl Hevier.
- Rescind resolution #266 dated October 22, 2013 that states: Amend the Camillus Municipal Code, Chapter 60, Traffic and Vehicles §60.22 stop intersections to erect a stop sign at the intersection of Owls Nest Way and Pacer Way.
- Approve the 2014 Animal Cruelty Services Agreement between the Town of Camillus and the CNYSPCA in the amount of $2,175.00 and authorize Supervisor to sign.
- Set the date, time, and place as November 26, 2013 at 7 PM at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider amending the Camillus Municipal Code Chapter 34-Fences of, §3407-Exceptions, the purpose of which is to allow a fence exception for an existing six foot fence located at 198 Beverly Drive TM# 055.-01-18.0.
- Set date, time and place as December 10, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider the formation of a Drainage District for the Water Bridge Extension subdivision.
- Set date, time and place as December 10, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider the formation of a Sewer District for the Water Bridge Extension subdivision.
