The staff and volunteers at the Erie Canal Park are in the process of moving a rare King iron truss bridge from Skaneateles Falls to our canal park. Once it is restored it will be placed over the Nine Mile Creek Feeder. The bridge dates to 1895 and is another fine example of the great work (led by Dr. Dave & Liz Bebee) being accomplished by the team at the Camillus Erie Canal Park.

1. Amend resolution number 270 dated November 27, 2012 to approve the 2011 and 2012 tax certiorari settlement in the amount of $19,416.49 for Camillus Commons Settlement.
2. Set the date, time, and place as January 8, 2013 at 7 PM at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider extending the Camillus Consolidated Lighting District number five to include Country Oaks Subdivision.
3. Approve the contract between the Town of Camillus and Lakeside Fire Department commencing on January 1, 2013 and terminating on December 31, 2013 in the amount of $51,758 to be paid before March 15, 2013 and authorize Supervisor to sign.
4. Approve the contract with National Benefit Life Insurance Company to provide New York Disability Insurance effective January 1, 2013 and authorize Supervisor to sign. (Per Finance Committee).
5. Authorize the Town Clerk to advertise for a vacancy on the Camillus Planning Board.

Due to the efforts addressing traffic safety and accident reduction issues within the Town and Village of Camillus, our community is once again going to receive AAA’s highest award, the Platinum Award. Congratulations to Camillus Police Chief Winn for his stewardship and also Captain Rotunno and Sergeant Farella for the professional documentation that was presented to AAA that allowed for our selection to receive this award.
After much hard work over the past several months the town has passed its budget. Increases to the budget totaled approximately $421,000. This includes State Retirement Benefits ($162,000), wage increases ($131,000), and health insurance costs ($118,000). The majority of these costs are out of our control. Couple this with the lost in state aid (est. $80,000) and one can imagine the arduous task at hand. The majority of property owners in the 2nd Ward will see a decrease of roughly 4.3%, this is mainly due to the consolidation of the Camillus Water District with OCWA. Other property owners will see a slight increase of 1.3%. However, it should be noted that the base rate we were able to achieve is the lowest (6.639) since 1996. My thanks to all the department heads, Comptroller Albunio, Supervisor Coogan, Deputy Supervisor Callahan for the many days and nights of hard work.
