2.Consider extending the Westhill Water District to include TM#: 023.-02-01.3, the proposed site of the First Baptist Church.

(Per Councilor Dave Callahan)

Land Banks – a process for dealing with abandon/vacant properties

The City and County legal teams are currently exploring the contents of a potential Intergovernmental Agreement, which would allow the two entities to jointly form a Land Bank at the County level. CenterState CEO is assisting in the process, largely through their partnership with Dan Kildee and his team from the Center for Community Progress (the Ford Foundation has supported CenterState CEO’s continued work with them). At this point, they are providing some guidance on legal issues. Once the State introduces the rules and regulations related to Land Banks, and  have the paperwork submitted, Dan and his team will return to Syracuse to assist in the implementation process. 2012 Preliminary Budget

The Public Hearing for the 2012 Preliminary Budget will be held Thursday, November 10, 7:00 at the town Hall on W. Genesee St.  Please note that the Town Board meeting scheduled for the 2nd Tuesday of each month (Sept-June) was moved due to the November Elections.  I encourage each resident to carefully look at where their tax dollars are allocated.  Please be advised that the budget is preliminary and not all departments have submitted their final numbers.

Water Pressure issues (James, Thomas, Horan & Gere Lock area)

From Camillus Consolidated Water District Superintendent John Friske – a new 8″ main is being installed in along part of the 200 block of Horan Road to help alleviate some of the water pressure issues due to the increased usage by Honeywell.  Once the work is complete, residents should not experience anymore fluctuation in pressure.  This will result in increased fire flow to the Hydrants.  This expense is being paid for by Honeywell.  The work is scheduled to commence this week and will take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.

Redistricting

October 16th, 2011

A committee comprised of State Legislators and staff members are in the process of compiling public comments and data in regards to redistricting.  This arduous task (mandated by the NYS Constitution) must be completed every 10 years following the publishing of the census.  According to Assemblyman Bob Oaks (R-Macedon), the first round of maps should be completed in November.  Due to a change in the law, the September Primary date will be moved up to late Spring (May-June) starting in 2012.  Based on this change, the newly formed districts would need to be in place prior to the new date.

Fall Leaf Pick-up

The Town Highway Department has released the following Fall leaf pick up schedule:

November 1-3 / November 21-23 Kasson Road West to the Elbridge town line between West Genesee Street and Howlett Hill Road.

November 4-9 /November 25-30 Hinsdale Road West to the VanBuren town line between West Genesee Street and Warners Road / Van Buren Road and Winchell Road.

November 10-15 /December 1-5 Kasson Road East to the Geddes town line between West Genesee Street and Gulf Road.

November 16-18 / December 6-8 Hinsdale Road East to the Solvay / Geddes line between West Genesee Street and Warners Road/ Belle Isle Road and Thomas Ave.
