NEW BUSINESS

1.       Approve the establishment of a petty cash account in the amount of $400 for the office of the Town Clerk/Tax Receiver.

 2.       Approve the establishment of a petty cash account in the amount of $100 for the Code Enforcement Office.

 3.       Approve the total supplemental contract in the amount of $39,900 for the West Genesee Street Corridor Improvement Project.  (Per Barton & Loguidice, P.C.)

 7.       Approve the $500 contribution to the 2012 “All Night/After the Ball Party” to be held on May 11, 2012 at the West Genesee High School. 

 8.       Approve the 2012 Agreement for the Expenditure of Highway Moneys Agreement in the amount of $500,000 pursuant to the provisions of Section 284 of the Highway law, we agree that moneys levied and collected in the Town for the repair and improvement of highways, and received from the State for State Aid for the repair and improvement of highways and authorize supervisor and the members of the Camillus Town Board to sign. 

 9.       Authorize the Town of Camillus to participate in the Cooperative Energy Purchasing Service Agreement (NYSMEC) for electricity.  (Per Public Works Committee)

 10.   Accept the state bid for the purchase of two 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD Regular Cab Trucks in an amount not to exceed $32,328.72 to be used at the Camillus Water Department. (Per Finance Committee)

11.   Authorize Supervisor to execute application to acquire surplus property from New York State to be added to the Erie Canal Park as described in memorandum from David Beebe dated January 7, 2012.  (Per Parks and Recreation Department)

In recognizing that this growing concern is a serious challenge to the strength and fellowship of our community, F.O.C.U.S. joined in partnership with Syracuse University’s Maxwell School PARCC program, the Campbell Institute, and CNYSpeaks to develop community standards of discourse to ensure all are heard, all are respectful in their voice and that the issues facing our community and nation can be discussed in a civil and just manner. The Onondaga County Legislature voted 16-1 Tuesday to create a not-for-profit corporation to redevelop tax-delinquent vacant or abandoned tax-delinquent properties — part of a plan to turn convert blighted properties to into productive use.

A new state law allows not-for-profits called land banks to acquire and redevelop properties that have been abandoned with unpaid taxes.

Creation of the Greater Syracuse Property Development Corp. also must get the approval of the Syracuse Common Council.

The land bank would have a five-member board of directors. Appointments would be made by the county executive (who has selected Mary Beth Primo, county economic development director), the mayor, the majority leader of the Common Council, the chairman of the county Legislature (Daniel Barnaba, a homebuilder); and one picked by the county executive and the mayor, and confirmed by the council and legislature (former county Legislator James Corbett).
