Proper Disposal of “Sharps”

Dependable Disposal will pick up disposed needles and other items considered ‘Sharps”once the guidelines are meet for proper disposal. It is very important to follow these guidelines to keep our families and pets safe! Thanks so much.
Safe disposal of used needles and other “sharps.”
Sharps is a term for medical devices with sharp points or edges that can puncture or cut the skin.
DO:
• Immediately place used sharps in a heavy duty plastic laundry detergent bottle. The container must be leak-resistant and remain upright.
• Secure top with tape or a tight fitting lid.
• Write “SHARPS” with a marker on top.
• Place at curb for pick up by Dependable Disposal.
DO NOT:
• Throw loose sharps into the trash.
• Flush sharps down the toilet.
• Put sharps in a recycling bin; they are not recyclable.
