Township 5’s newest restaurant tenant opens next month. Red Robin, known for its variety of hamburgers, will open on Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. The chain was once planned for one of the multi-tenant buildings at Township 5, but moved to its own stand-alone structure when Olive Garden dropped plans for the development. Red Robin has 500 locations across the country, including one at the Towne Center at Fayetteville. Township 5 is a $58-million mixed-used project. It’ll have 500,000 square feet of space when finished, including retail, offices and a 96-unit apartment complex. The development is located just off the Hinsdale Road exit of Route 5. Its main anchor is Costco, which opened last year. Since then, numerous other tenants have opened, including restaurants, retailers and a fitness studio. A local restaurant, The Brasserie, opened in July. Another, Mitsuba Japanese Steakhouse, will open this fall. Work is also underway on the development’s apartment complex, an office building and Movie Tavern, which will open next year and offer in-theater dining and bar service.
