Election Inspectors

The Onondaga County Board of Elections is hiring election inspectors. You must be a registered voter, be able to serve anywhere in Onondaga County and be enrolled in either the Democratic or Republican parties. You have to work the entire day for the primary or general elections. The primary date and time has not yet been set, but the hours in the past were from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The general election is Nov. 3. Hours are 5:30 a.m. to 9: 30 p.m. The pay is $190 a day. There is also training with paid attendance. Election law requires a bi-partisan team of four – two Republicans and two Democrats – at each polling place. The board needs people to serve as both permanent inspectors and substitutes. Here’s how to apply: Go to the Board of Elections website http://www.ongov.net/elections/electionInspectors.html or call the Inspector Department at 435-3331.
