New Developments

Red Robin – Township 5 has a signed lease for Red Robin.

Nikkou Japan Grill and Sushi Fast, located at 3800 W. Genesee Street, across from Empower Federal Credit Union and next to Carol’s Polar Parlor, is anticipating an opening date near the first of November. They will offer raw and cooked sushi, as well as several hibachi entrees, with the goal to serve fresh and healthy food while enhancing the diversity of the area.

Affordable Senior Housing – The developers of this 119 unit complex along Milton Avenue, formerly known as Grumpy “s Pit, will be closing on the property later this year. They still hope to be in the ground before the end of the year. A number of people have asked how to get on the waiting list: A sign will go up with a number to call that will allow them to accumulate those Seniors (65+) that have interest. After that, they will contact those people and arrange for visits to comparable sites and then if really interested, after that, they will take reservations.

New York Spine and Wellness Center– Great news that the overgrown parcel on West Genesee St. across from the Knowell Rd. intersection (formerly occupied by the Hooker Manor Motel) will now have a large building erected on the rear of the parcel which will house a One Day Surgery Center, Physical Therapy Facilities and a Patient Office visit area for folks with spine and back problems. No opening date yet. After that building is completed a new dental facility will occupy the front of the parcel. The developers have done a great job of providing privacy to all residents around the perimeter.

McDonald’s – A bit further to the east, across from Camillus Commons, on W. Genesee St. a full service McDonalds will be going up in between Dunkin Donuts and the Radio Shack. Parking for parents watching ball games on the athletic fields will be made available behind the McDonalds. No building date has been announced.

“Good Buddy’s Pub” will occupy the former IHOP restaurant after undergoing renovations. It should have its grand opening around January, 2014.

A new Dental Office at the corner of Bramley Dr. and West Genesee St. will be going up soon. You may remember the old Maroon Church next to that site was torn down. The entrance to the new dental building will be shared with the Church where the old building was.

W. Genesee St. Paving – Thank you everyone for your patience in this huge project the County is doing for Camillus.

I believe we can see the benefits and improvements. The majority of the project is scheduled for completion by the end of November.
