There are two tree lightings in our community! The Town of Camillus will light the tree located in front of the Camillus Municipal Building on
Monday, November 27th at 6:00 p.m.

The Village of Camillus will host their Annual Tree Lighting onSaturday, December 2nd beginning at 6:00 p.m. right here at the Camillus Senior Center! Both events are FREE to attend. Special guest appearance by Santa! Refreshments provided.

There will also be an open house and public comment period about the Draft Onondaga Lake Long-Term Monitoring Plan:
Open House: November 9, 2017 at Destiny USA, 6th floor, 9090 Destiny USA Drive, Syracuse, NY 13290. Two identical sessions will be held: 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00p.m. Stop by any time during either session.
Public Comment Period: Public comments about the draft plan will be accepted through December 7, 2017.

1. Approve the MS4 Semi-Annual Report from March 10, 2017 – September 9, 2017 and authorize Supervisor to sign.

2. Consider the expansion of the Camillus Consolidated Sewer District to include 3614 Dunn Road, TM# 009.-07-14.1.

The regularly scheduled Planning Board meeting scheduled for Monday October 23rd is cancelled as there are no applicants.

My sincere thanks to Onondaga County Legislature Chairman and Camillus three County Legislatures Mike Plochocki, Derek Shepard and Pat Kilmartin as Camillus has been awarded $45,000 to renovate the basketball courts at Bicentennial Park behind the Town Hall. The Town also received $36,000 towards drainage improvement projects for Town Infrastructure funding

The developer behind Canal Crossing apartments near Township 5 in Camillus is now proposing a second phase of housing near the shopping center.
Morgan Management wants to build 47 townhouse units in nine buildings on 4.5 acres behind Township 5, a growing retail complex that includes Costco, Movie Tavern, smaller stores, medical offices, restaurants and a hotel. The new housing would be behind Costco in Township 5, according to Camillus town officials. The preliminary proposal calls for seven buildings with five units each, and two buildings with six units each. The townhomes would range in size from 1,450 to 1,700 square feet. Each unit would have a garage and one other parking space. The land is currently an undeveloped, densely wooded parcel. The site is located off a private road with private sewers. A water main extension from Warners Road would serve the project, according to the proposal. Access to the development would be from Warners Road. Camillus planning board members told Morgan Management representatives that there would have to be an access road to Township 5, and along with screening and a buffer plan for the existing neighborhood on Bennett Road. Planners also said them the Onondaga County Department of Transportation will have to review the plans and look at traffic at the Hinsdale/Warners road intersection.

A new state website aims to quell anxiety homeowners might experience as they await money to help pay for school taxes coming due this month in much of the state. 1. Appoint Kathy O’Neill of 207 Skyview Terrace, Syracuse, NY to the part time clerical list.

2. Authorize the Town of Camillus to remain a participant in the Municipal Cooperation Energy Purchasing Service New York School and Municipal Energy Consortium (“NYSMEC”) for natural gas.

3. Authorize the Town of Camillus to remain a participant in the Municipal Cooperation Energy Purchasing Service New York School and Municipal Energy Consortium (“NYSMEC”) for electricity.

4. Set the date, time, and place as October 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider overriding the 2% tax cap as mandated by New York State.

5. Set the date, time, and place as October 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camillus Municipal Building to hold a public hearing to consider the 2017 premlininary budget.
